FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DATA
|
Flash

Contact
with strong oxidizers may cause heat/explosion. Like every
grain product, this can reach self-ignition temperature in
storage because of fermentation induced by moisture and warm
conditions. Also finely dispersed dust particles in the air
can be a fire or explosion hazard.
Extinguishing
Media: When
heated, strychnine emits highly toxic fumes, thus fire fighters
should wear self-contained breathing equipment along with
full protective gear.

steady, gentle stream of water for 15minutes. Get
medical attention if irritation persists. IF ON SKIN:
Wash with plenty of soap and water. Get Medical attention.
Remove clothing for proper cleaning of contaminated areas.
May cause allergic reaction, LD50>2000 mg/kg. Note
to Physicians: Administer 100% oxygen by positive pressure
to provide as much pulmonary gas exchange as possible, despite
seizures. Administer Anticonvulsant drugs intravenously to
control convulsions. Caution: It may be difficult
or impossible to stop the seizure activity without stopping
respiration. Be prepared to maintain pulmonary ventilation
mechanically. Tracheotomy may be necessary if seizures are
prolonged. Threshold Limit: 3-lethal dose to man
30-60-mg/kg Strychnine Equivalent. Effects of Overexposure:
Rapid onset of exaggerated reflexes and spasms of arms
